ALIBABA GROUP’S MISSION IS TO MAKE IT EASY TO DO BUSINESS ANYWHERE.
Alibaba enables businesses to transform the way they market, sell and operate and improve their efficiencies. Alibaba provides the technology infrastructure and marketing reach to help merchants, brands, and other businesses to leverage the power of new technology to engage with their users and customers and operate in a more efficient way.
Alibaba’s businesses are comprised of core commerce, cloud computing, digital media and entertainment, and innovation initiatives. In addition, Ant Group, an unconsolidated related party, provides payment services and offers financial services for consumers and merchants on its platforms. An ecosystem has developed around its platforms and businesses that consists of consumers, merchants, brands, retailers, third-party service providers, strategic alliance partners, and other businesses.
The Alibaba ecosystem generated RMB7.3 trillion in GMV in the 12 months ended June 30, 2020, which mainly included GMV transacted through its China retail marketplaces, as well as GMV transacted through its international retail marketplaces and local consumer services. As of June 30, 2020, Alibaba Group had a user reach of over 1 billion global annual active consumers, including 807 million consumers in China and 194 million consumers outside China.
How it works
Step 1:Find products and sellers
With over 150,000 manufacturers, wholesalers, and distributors selling on the platform, you can find or create anything you’re looking for. You can work with sellers to create customized products or find finished products that already exist that are Ready to Ship from the facility within 15 days of when you place the order.
Step 2:Connect with sellers
Unlike other platforms, you can speak one-on-one with sellers on Alibaba.com to customize your order, negotiate prices or learn more about their business. Once you’ve created a shortlist of sellers, it’s time to reach out.
Step 3:Place and protect your order
When possible, place orders using Alibaba.com Trade Assurance for order protection. Look for the Trade Assurance iconon product listing pages, or ask your seller if it’s offered. Adhere to all Trade Assurance rules, including messaging within the Message Center instead of third-party apps.
Step 4: Pay on Alibaba.com
Paying suppliers on Alibaba.com is easy and secure. Once you and the seller agree on payment terms, you’ll typically pay an initial balance. The remainder is due when the items are shipped. Buyers can make secure Alibaba.com Trade Assurance payments through the options shown on the right.
Step 5: Ship and receive your goods
Alibaba.com Logistics has partnered with major players in the industry to provide our customers with reliable and transparent multi-modal shipping solutions.
